Essential Oils and Spring Allergies: Connecting the Dots

    May 14, 2020 /

Runny nose, sneezing, lots of congestion and just feeling yourself? Seasonal allergies take a tole on a lot of people this time of year, myself included. I’ve asked my friends their holistic remedies and along with a few that I’ve picked up along the way I’ve used all the “tricks” during the past few allergy seasons. Living life holistically can be hard when you don’t have creditable resources to use when you need them. For that reason, I think it’s important to house all the remedies I’ve found for treating a cold/allergies holistically and why I choose to incorporate these into my family’s lives. I’m including the ones that I…

    Immune Boosting With Essential Oils

    September 3, 2019 /

With the starting of school and changing of the seasons, germs are sure to spread around more than normal. For this reason, we as a family focus on boosting our immune systems as much as possible with fresh organic foods, supplements and vitamins (read more about those here) and of course essential oils. I’ve used essential oils for almost 8 years now and it’s one of my favorite switches to safer. Before oils, I didn’t realize how much I could actually use them for and now I feel like there is an oil for everything. I am very picky about the quality of essential oils and you really do get…

Why We Diffuse Essential Oils and Skip Candles

    March 19, 2019 /

Hey ya’ll! I am so excited to share another switch to safer that I’ve made in my household and I hope will inspire you to make in yours. When I was pregnant with my first child, Nolan, I kept getting debilitating headaches. I knew nothing about essential oils but when I reached out to a few crunchy mamas, they told me to inhale Peppermint oil and it would help. Ummmmm, WOW! It was a game changer and one that I used a lot during my pregnancy with Frankincense oil for headaches. NOTHING worked for my headaches but these oils and I’m so thankful that I was introduced to them for…

    Our Evolving Playroom

    August 24, 2017 /

I look back at the evolution of this little room and it’s actually quite amazing how much it has transformed over the last five years. When we first moved into this home, Derrek turned this into his office with a glass desk and a love seat but it never felt like an office. The office furniture didn’t “fit” into the space and when Nolan turned six months old, we took that furniture out and made it a playroom for him. Of course, at that time we didn’t have a large income and his playroom consisted of a few hand me down toys, bright colored playmat from Walmart and a little…
