Why We Wash Our Sheets Weekly
How often do you wash your sheets? Come on, get real with me. Is it once a month? Every other week? Once a week? Not at all?!?!?
Whatever the frequency you’re currently working with, I am going to encourage you to make it a habit to wash your sheets weekly.
Why?
According to The Sleep Foundation, you should wash your sheets once a week.
“Each and every week, most of us spend approximately 49 to 60+ hours sleeping in our beds. That’s a lot of time to get the rest our bodies need to thrive, but it’s also ample time to build up dirt, sweat, oil, and other gunk on our sheets and bedding.”
They also share that “Proper hygiene is important in all areas of life. When it comes to our bedding, it’s perhaps more important than you might think. Without regular cleaning, dirty sheets can contribute to allergies, skin breakouts, asthma, and more.”
Here are the four main reasons that I personally make sure that all the linens are washed once a week:
We are also very picky with the type of sheets we use. I prefer bamboo or hemp and my children all use organic cotton. You can read more about the brand we love and trust by clicking here.

I wash my sheets weekly. But I also use an enzyme spray monthly on my mattress and pillows to dissolve dust mite “poop”. Cleaning your Sheets are so important for good health! Thanks I’m for making this post!
