My Chicken and “Rice” Recipe and Non Toxic Cookware Guide

    December 4, 2017 /

One thing I’ve learned after starting my family is that finding good recipes that don’t take several hours to make is really important. It’s so easy to say, “well, nothing is cooked, so let’s just head out to eat.” How often have you heard those words come out of your mouth? Fast food or eating out is such a waste of money and will pack on the pounds at the same time. Don’t get me wrong, getting “vacation meals” every now and then isn’t bad but don’t make it a habit. I am with the kids 24/7 and even though Derrek is more than hands on when he is home,…

    Lettuce Taco ‘Bout It

    September 3, 2017 /

Food blogs are back and will be better than ever! I promise to share easy to make, healthy and delicious recipes that the entire family will love. I will only share what I’ve tried in my own home with my kiddos and talk about what we love and what we don’t. My kids aren’t really picky eaters but, my husband wins that title, every single time! He could eat a steak and fries for every meal and in between and never think twice. Me on the other hand, I love variety, mixing it up and trying new things. When we go to a restaurant I am the first to ask…

    Coconut Milk Quinoa Breakfast

    April 24, 2016 /

This week has been bananas, but thankfully the weekend is here, and now that my Earth Day event at Kindbelly has passed, I can relax with my family. By relaxing, I’m not talking a vacay on a tropical island, I totally mean enjoying our home and doing yard work. We’ve neglected our yard for tooooooo long and now that the weather is warming up, we cannot wait to go out there every day. We started our garden inside with seedlings and now that Derrek put chicken manure in my raised beds, we can plant away! Nolan is super excited about watering the garden and watching its daily process… I really…

    Avocado Pesto Sauce

    February 10, 2015 /

I am a big fan of superfoods, and quinoa tops my personal list. It is delicious! In fact, my family eats so much quinoa, I had to find new ways to spice it up! When eaten plain, this superfood tastes just like rice. We have replaced all our rice, oatmeal, and some pasta recipes with it. Quinoa is high in fiber, protein, and iron, so it will leave you feeling fuller longer. If you like a meatless Monday in your menu like I do, packing quinoa into your meal is a logical choice. It basically cooks like rice, so don’t be wary of needing expert cooking skills to prepare it.…
