One of the things that I try to do every day for my health is stretch.
Stretching is important.
When you take the time to stretch it helps to keep your muscles flexible, strong and working properly. For our joints to keep a range of motion, stretching is needed to maintain flexibility. When we do not do it, our muscles shorten and become tight. This is a problem when you try to use them because they are weak and not able to extend correctly. I am sure that you don’t want discomfort in your workouts or a injury during one, so let me help! You don’t have to have a lot of time to devote to stretching, just a few minutes in the morning and at night.
I’ve found with the help of the amazing Belintha Elder, studio owner and yoga teacher at Soulift Studio in Florence, SC, that specific stretches can help also with awakening and relaxing when need be. Stretching is on of my favorite parts of a yoga class and B always takes the time to explain the importance of each stretch. Check them out below.
Try incorporating these stretches into your weekly routine this week and see how better your body feels.
