Our Favorite Nontoxic Toys: Perfect for Birthday and Christmas

This post is in partner with Lovevery! All thoughts and opinions are my own. Please read my disclaimer page for more information. With five kids, I’ve seen my fair share of kid’s toys. They seem to just over populate the house overnight and end up in piles all around and never played with. I end up throwing away or giving away most toys that are from big chain toy stores because they are just junk. When my children play with toys, I want the intention behind them to help develop their sensory, motor and cognitive skills. I’ve honestly, stopped buying a lot of “mainstream” toys because they are NOT helping…

Why I Think Every Mom Should Own An Ergo Adapt

The most common phrase people say to me when they find out how many kids I have is “I just don’t know how you do it.” Honestly y’all, MOM LIFE IS HARD. Being a parent is HARD, no matter how many children you have. I personally feel like having one child as first time mom was the biggest struggle of my life, and then I had two and I thought that was the hardest thing ever and so on and so forth. Family Game Night: Our Top Five

One of our favorite things to do as a family is play a fun game and have a family game night. I’ve done this since I was little, my Daddy and I used to play cards together when I spent the weekend with him. When Derrek and I started dating, we also played cards and as our older children have gotten to an age to understand a little better, we play with them. Nolan and Harper get SO excited when it’s our family game night and I wanted to take a little bit to share how much of a positive light this has been in our lives as a family.…

    Cloth Diapering 101

When I was pregnant, I had researched what chemicals were in most diapers I decided to use nontoxic. Most disposable diapers contain chemicals like chlorine, perfumes or polyacrylate (a chemical that is specifically used to absorb) that causes more harm than good. These specific chemicals in disposable diapers can strip away protective bacteria on the skin and change the pH balance of your infant, which can cause dryness and skin irritations. In some cases, the exposure to the chemicals in the diapers have caused very severe reactions like fever, vomiting and staph infections. I have personally found that my children are very reactive to the chemicals in disposable diapers and…

Lovevery: My Favorite High Quality Baby Toys

With five kids, I’ve learned that with toys, more is less. What I mean is that toys tend to collect in areas and not get played with when there is an abundance… and when there are one or two in site, the kids will actually play with them. I have been on the hunt for some fun new non-toxic toys for my littlest girls and I LOVE the ones that I found with a brand called Lovevery! I had never heard of them before so when they reached out to me about trying some toys, I was really excited! I went to their website and checked out the brand and…
