Beach Maternity Session

A few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to have a beach photo shoot with Savvy Alli Photography. Allison Denton is the creative photographer behind the camera and we love, love, love the pictures she was able to capture. I told her about my dress, this magical blush pink silk convertible dress by Nuova Vita Maternity and the vision I had for a simple beach sunset shoot. Allison took my visions and turned them into magic. She was even able to get great shots of us as a family and the kids together! I have been lucky enough to shoot with her several times in the past and each time she really takes into account what I want for my shoot and does a great job producing beautiful moments for us to cherish forever.
For our wardrobe, I wanted my maternity dress to take the spotlight and it did so perfectly. The dress that I decided to wear is from Nuova Vita and it’s a convertable maxi dress with slits. This dress can be worn 12 different ways, you can transform the top by changing how you tie the top. The Nuova Vita website has a style guide to help you step by step change the look. I really love the fact that I can make it look completely different and wear it to different events. These dresses are meant to be able to wear as bridesmaid dresses as well so if you have a wedding coming up, these would be beautiful! The color I went with for my dress is a soft blush pink. Use code: AMANDA for 10% off of your Nuova Vita purchase! I did this because we are welcoming a baby girl to our family in late July. It’s so crazy that in a few short months, we will be a family of FIVE!
The last piece of our puzzle came down to Harper’s dress. I wanted the boys to be styled in neutral clothing (I’ve linked their outfits above) and the girls to stand out. Harper’s dress came from Mabel and Gordon and is a “princess dress” – as she likes to call it. It’s a handmade beautiful white dress with pink blooms on it in a perfect design. She loves twirling around in it and it’s so soft and comfortable she wants to wear it all of the time. It’s not made of a thick material so it’s perfect for our hot and humid summer in South Carolina. I love the Mabel and Gordon line and see myself buying more pieces for Harper’s wardrobe, and our new little girl, as the season progresses. When planning your own maternity session, I highly suggest going with a non stressful theme. It’s easy to get overwhelmed when you add tons of props and expect littles to be perfect statues. Photograph kids with family first, then siblings then get adults last as they are more patient in the process. Most importantly, have fun! These pictures are always my favorite and very special to the entire family.
