Why I Think Every Mom Should Own An Ergo Adapt
The most common phrase people say to me when they find out how many kids I have is “I just don’t know how you do it.” Honestly y’all, MOM LIFE IS HARD. Being a parent is HARD, no matter how many children you have. I personally feel like having one child as first time mom was the biggest struggle of my life, and then I had two and I thought that was the hardest thing ever and so on and so forth. Here I am today, as a mom of five amazing children and I want to share one of my best tips for how I keep my sanity and accomplish anything. BABY WEARING! Ya’ll have heard me talk about this many many times over the course of my blog and I’m here to say it again… baby wearing has saved my life as a mom.
So many days, I have a million things to do and a little baby or even toddler that wants to be held. I used to get so frustrated when I was a first time mom, before I knew how helpful baby wearing could be. It was because my baby wanted me ALL THE TIME and I felt like I couldn’t get anything accomplished while I held him. One of my friends told me to borrow her ERGO baby carrier and after that day, I was astonished at how helpful baby wearing is! I immediately ordered my own. My son was 6 months old at the time so I went with the Ergo verses a wrap because of his weight. I personally LOVE baby wraps for the newborn to 6 month age… after that, it hurts to wear my babies for extended periods of time. The Ergo Adapt Carrier is such a huge daily help in my life and I feel like it’s a most for all moms! This carrier can be used from newborn to toddler without any extra attachments involved – which s great when you have to baby wear in the dead heat of summer. This is VERY rare in the Babywearing world! Ergo created an adjustable Velcro base with ergonomic seating so you can wear your newborn or that 45 pound toddler who refused her stroller and is a crying puddle because she wants Mama to hold her. There are three size settings you can adjust with the Velcro on the Ergo Adapt so the carrier grows with your child’s size making this a one stop shop in the baby wearing department.
Another feature that I am in love with is the lumber back support that is built into the buckle waistband. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve carried my babies, even during pregnancies, in my Ergo and after hours of wearing I ended up with low back pain. The lumber back support has changed that completely and I now never have that issue. I can easily wear my smaller Kids and even the older ones on my back if they need to be held. I am so pleased with the Ergo Adapt! It is a great way to babywear and only invest in ONE Carrier from newborn to toddler. The more kids that I have, the more I realize the importance of quality verses quantity and the Ergo Adapt is a perfect example of that!
