Why I swap table salt for pink Himalayan salt

One of the biggest swaps we can make for our health is with our foods. Unfortunately, over the last 50 years the quality of food has become less nutrient dense and more processed, “quick and easy.” I have seen a major positive change take place in my life JUST by focusing on the foods that I eat being clean. This swap spans from cooking oils, processed items, meat quality, organic produce and the salt I use to cook with.

I’m sure that when thinking about eating better, salt isn’t at the top of the priority list but it should be. Salt has the ability to harm or improve your health. Isn’t that crazy?

Specifically speaking, table salt (white salt) is really bad for us. Table salt is particularly hard on both the circulatory system and nervous system. It also wreaks havoc on the delicate balance of the lymph system in the body. It is a manufactured form of sodium called sodium chloride. While similar to naturally occurring rock, crystal, or sea salt, table salt merely mimics the taste of these elements.

When table salt is made, it begins in natural salt form. This is heated to a temperature that naturally removes a lot of the elements that are naturally occurring. The elements are what we need in our bodies to do good. These elements are the things that work to keep us hydrated, and trace minerals used for a multitude of things in our bodies like: proper immune, thyroid and adrenal function. Unfortunately, table salt isn’t doing us any good while flavoring our food. For this reason, I love Himalayan salt!

Here are six reasons why you should swap out your table salt for Himalayan salt:

Try swapping out your table salt with pink Himalayan salt and see if you can tell a difference! I love the way it tastes, I’ll never go back to white table salt or sea salt again.
