My Favorite Matcha Recipes for St. Patrick’s Day!
With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, it’s only appropriate to celebrate by introducing you to my favorite green super food.
Although I really do try to drink coffee (more so in social settings), it makes me very jittery and I feel like that makes it counteractive for me personally. I have started looking into other alternatives because lets face it, as a mom of five, I need all the energy I can get! I saw that Perfect Supplements had a Matcha supplement and I had to try it. I am so thankful that I did because it is AMAZING. It’s probably my favorite supplements that I’ve tried so far and I’ve been fortunate enough to try a lot.
Matcha is a very concentrated form of green tea. The way it’s grown and consumed means that it’s packed full of essential vitamins and minerals. Matcha contains 137 times the antioxidants of regular green tea. This form of green tea gives you energy all day. Matcha provides 4 to 6 hours of mild steady energy as it acts as both a stimulant and relaxant. This is ideal for focusing on whatever the day throws your way. Consuming matcha green tea can increase thermogenesis (the body’s own rate of burning calories) from a normal 8%-10% of daily energy expenditure, to between 35% and 43% of daily energy expenditure. Antioxidants are essential as you age to boost your body’s natural defenses against oxidation. Researchers have found that a high level of dietary antioxidants can prevent many age-related diseases.
Matcha green tea also helps protect the skin from harmful UV rays while improving blood flow and oxygen levels lifting the overall quality of the skin. Perfect Supplements start with pure Japanese grown Organic Matcha, that is bursting with antioxidants. Then add in Organic Moringa, one of the most nutrient dense plants on the planet. The end result is Perfect Matchinga™, an energy boosting nutritious green powder that is loaded with antioxidants, iron, calcium, vitamins, minerals, and all the essential amino acids.
There are so many more health benefits but I didn’t want to overwhelm ya’ll with to much information. Just know that matcha + collagen is HEAVEN! You can read more about the benefits of collagen and why I have to incorporate it into my routine by clicking here. I drink mine in the form of a matcha latte and I LOVE it.

Here’s another recipe I love and it’s just in time for St. Patrick’s Day… a mint Matcha milkshake!
INGREDIENTS:
- ½ cup milk or almond milk
- 1 tablespoon matcha powder
- 1 pint mint-chocolate chip ice cream, slightly softened
DIRECTIONS:
- Whisk together 1 tablespoon matcha powder and 1/2 cup milk or almond milk until no lumps remain.
- In a blender combine matcha mixture, 1 pint slightly softened mint-chocolate chip ice cream, and 3 tablespoons choped fresh mint; cover and blend until combined. Top with whipped cream and, if desired, dust with additional matcha powder.
- For a shamrock on top, lightly place a 1 3/4-inch shamrock-shaped cookie cutter on top of the whipped cream. Lightly sift matcha powder inside the cutter. Gently lift cutter away.
ENJOY! And Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!
