‘Tis the season for lots and lots of baking, y’all! The kids are very active in the kitchen and I have found that involving them makes the entire process SO much easier. I cook three meals a day and make snacks so, anything that I can do to make that easier, I do! One of our fall traditions is making chocolate chip pumpkin bread. This is a weekly event in our home. My entire family LOVES this bread. Not only does it make the entire house smell like fall while it’s cooking, the kids take pride in helping during the baking process. They run to the kitchen when the oven timer goes off and “ooohh” and “ahhhh” when I take it out to sit for a few minutes and cool off. They love smelling it and I also find them sticking their little fingers in it while we let it cool. haha!
As life gets more hectic, I am thankful to find baking kits and mixes that take the stress out of getting all of the baking ingredients myself! Transitioning to a non toxic lifestyle has given some challenges when you try to find better ingredients in pre made mixes. Foodstirs has been a game-changer for us because it includes all you need to create masterpieces in the kitchen that your children and yourself will love AND uses organic and high quality ingredients. Not having to skip out on holiday baking has been SO much fun since we’ve found Foodstirs. We have tried several of the baking kits and the mixes throughout eh past year (you can find these by searching for ‘Foodstirs’ in the “search” tab on my blog). On my next Target trip, I plan on picking up their gingerbread and sugar cookie mixes to make with the kids.
What are your favorite “sweets” to make during the holiday? I would love to find more ways to turn comfort foods into healthier options for all of us! You can see what all Foodstirs has to offer by heading to their website.
