4 Tips for Helping Your Makeup Stay Put + My Favorite New Makeup Primer

One thing that has given me a run for my money (literally) when trying nontoxic is makeup! It’s taken me several years of testing different brands to see what works and has the best ingredients.

I’ll be honest, I’ve only tried a handful of primers – these act as a base for your makeup – so my knowledge is limited but this one is hands down my favorite.

The Glow First Priming Serum is a serum-primer hybrid, made with obsessively tested, clean ingredients that instantly hydrates skin, plumps, and preps for makeup application, as well as helps makeup stay put throughout the day (among the other 3 tips below!). It also lasts a long time which makes me feel good about investing in my skin!

4 TIPS TO HELP MAKEUP STAY PUT:

TIP 1: Take your time

Make sure you’re allowing enough time to go by between putting on your skincare and your makeup. If not, then you’re just piling product on top of product and it’s just going to slide all over your face. Give yourself a good 10 minutes between your skincare  application and makeup application.

TIP 2: Use a primer

Instantly hydrate and prep your skin for the perfect canvas for long-lasting makeup, while helping to provide pollution defense from skin-drying environmental aggressors for your best-looking complexion with each use. Improve the wear of your foundation for up to 12 hours.

TIP 3: Use a setting powder

Use a pea size amount of a mattifying powder to set your face after applying makeup. This will help keep it from moving around.

TIP 4: Start small!

Start small and build your coverage. Using too much makeup will cause it not to be able to set properly and will cause it to slide all over your face. Start with a small amount and add as needed.

Here are just a few highlights of the primer:

  • designed for use with or without makeup
  • gives your skin a glowy and hydrated look
  • provides pollution defense from skin-drying environmental aggressors
  • reduces the appearance of dark spots
  • improves skin texture
  • improves foundation wear for 12 hours
  • brighter, less tired-looking skin

Not sure where to use a primer in your morning routine? Here’s a helpful guide:

Forget everything you know about primers—this one breaks the mold. Glow First Priming Serum is a potent, skin-loving gel-serum that combines the complexion-improving results of a serum with the makeup-extending power of a primer. The result? Your best complexion instantly, all day, and over time.
