Polka Dot Love And My “Fashion Formula”

Hey ya’ll! I hope you’re having a wonderful day! We are totally embracing July and you’ll hear me gush about how it’s my favorite month until its over! I’ve got some really fun things happening this month because it is my birthday month and I want to share the love so make sure that you subscribe to my weekly newsletter so you get all the inside scoop and free goodies (including earrings from Cindy Borders Jewelry).

I know that most of ya’ll tune in for my health and wellness advice but I have received comments that some of you really enjoy when I post about the fashion side of my life as well. I love sharing my outfits because putting them together is a creative outlet that brings me joy and makes me feel beautiful when I wear what I have “created.” I share my outfits in hopes that they inspire and encourage others around me.

Being pregnant is a magical thing but it can also leave you feeling not so beautiful, frumpy and lumpy if you allow it. I personally don’t want to have those emotions when I should feel my most beautiful, so I set out to find the best (and most comfortable) maternity brands to wear.

Ingrid and Isabel is one of my favorite brands to wear while pregnant (and during the postpartum stage). I have never felt frumpy or uncomfortable in their outfits and all of my friends and family that have tried their brand say the same thing. The quality is also out of this world and that’s really hard to come by with maternity wear. Usually once I create an outfit I love, I find that I am often wearing something so much that wash-wear occurs after the first few washes. With Ingrid and Isabel I do not have this problem and I LOVE IT! I kept their dresses and shorts from my last pregnancies and they look brand new this go around.

An easy way to fell effortlessly beautiful is to style a dress! One of my new favorite items is this black polka dot maxi that hugs me in all the right places and is flowy in all the right places. I love how comfortable it is but also looks very dressy. If you need something that you can dress up or down then you need this in your closet.

Now for my “Fashion Formula”:
Anchor piece + colorful / statement accessories + a coordinating accessory piece = my easy, polished style.
I love to start by selecting one anchor piece (this dress) and move to the next (simple!) step, using accessories to give it a POP of color. I love these Jessica Simpson wedges (that I scored for less than $60) and pink and white jewelry from Cindy Borders Jewelry. The floral earrings give this outfit a fun look and I love the attention to detail by correlating the colors between the bracelets and shoes. Sometimes I’ll add a neutral outerwear piece like a jacket or sweater, or make my purse one of the accessories. Feel free to add and take away things until the outfit feels right for you!

Do you have a checklist or formula for how you style your outfits? If not, I hope a small peek into how I like to do it has helped you!
