Oh Little Baby Girl

I am so thankful for warmer weather! Every beautiful day we have, I make it a point to get outside with the kids and breathe in the fresh air. This winter has been WAY to long and I am looking forward to a long, hot summer!
I can’t say enough good things about what going outside can do for you mentally and physically. I try to keep the kids and myself in good health by our diets and exercise and also going outside. It seems so simple but yet it does SO much for you! Did you know that you can walk yourself out of a bad mood? Studies show that even a 10 minute walk immediately boosts brain chemistry to increase happiness. I have yet to find a consistent babysitter to help with the kids during the day, so instead of getting frustrated at my “to-do” list being over a mile long with no way to accomplish it, I just move us all outside.
When sunlight hits your skin, it creates Vitamin D from our kidneys and liver. Just 20 to 30 minutes of sun exposure on your arms, face or legs a couple of times a week is all that is needed to create vitamin D. This vitamin is known as a pre-hormone and is vital for health. Studies have also shown a 60% drop in cancer rates for people with adequate vitamin D levels. Being outside also helps fight infections like colds and flu, naturally boosts the immune system. It has also been known to boost mood and overall sense of well-being and increase energy levels.
Not only does it benefit our health but our mental enjoys it every single time! We love going for walks, heading to the playground, playing tennis or just drawing on the sidewalk with chalk. You’ll gladly catch us outside on any nice day soaking up the weather. I am also BEYOND happy to pack up all of our winter clothes and say hello to new Spring and Summer options.
