Oh wow, I cannot believe it’s already Wednesday! Ya’ll, the weeks are flying by. This one has been filled with so many errands that the weekend can’t get here soon enough. I was sick all last weekend and even though I am still getting over it, it’s not holding me back from tackling my to-do list. I don’t want to share to much about what’s happening right now but soon I will! Until then, just know that I am running errands and making appointments every day now which is really outside of my comfort zone but I know it will pay off in the end.
I picked up this caaautteee sweater dress last week and it’s just the perfect transitional dress for fall. I love that I can push the sleeves up and wear it now since it’s still hot and then at night as it’s cooling off. When it gets colder, I’m sure I’ll add a cute blanket scarf and over the knee boots. For now, I am LOVING it with mules and loafers. Unfortunately, this dress has already sold out BUT I am working hard to find a similar style or maybe this boutique will restock!
The easiest way to change up an outfit is with your accessories. Adding a different bag or shoes really makes the entire look change. I tend to buy staple clothing pieces that I can switch up throughout the season with my accessories. This means less spending on my wardrobe which I am really working hard on. My friend Christi started a blog a few years back and focused on spending less on her clothing and it’s really imprinted in my brain. I want to do better and just buy staple pieces that I can move around with other outfits and accessories. I bought a pair of bow flats from Madewell last year and I have been obsessed with them ever since. They come in a few different colors, so grabbing a pair you can pair with different outfits is a must. I also am obsessing over my new Rothy’s!
I went to a Beautycounter event back in January and I saw several consultants in these super cute loafers. I sparked a conversation (in the bathroom) with one of them and they shared all about how cool they are! Rothy’s mission is to create a new kind of shoe for women: one that is versatile, chic and durable. And they want to do it right, with as little waste and impact to the environment as possible. Rothy’s knit uppers are made from 100% post-consumer plastic water bottles. They aim to use recycled and renewable materials in their shoes and streamlined packaging. The shoes are also made with recycled foam for the insoles and vegan and non-toxic adhesives. Most shoe soles contain black carbon and has found a way to made a carbon-free rubber sole! I also love that their shipping boxes are vegan and biodegradable and made from 85% post-consumer recycled materials. Both the cards and the box are 100% recyclable, and the box is resealable so no tape is needed during the returns process.
I love supporting companies with great social missions and between Rothy’s, Diff Eyewear, Beautycounter and Parker and Thatch, I am covering quite a few!
