Everyone Should See a Chiropractor

It’s so exciting to share a topic that has changed so much in my life in the 8 years I’ve know about it. Before I met my husband, I never thought twice about chiropractic and now here I am begging for my biweekly adjustments because they are so helpful to me.

At the time in my life I started getting chiropractic adjustments, I had started a health journey to loose weight and when I began a regular adjustment schedule the weight just melted away. Subluxations in the spine can hinder weight loss and once I focused on getting my spine back into alinment, I could really tell a difference in my  weight. It was SO crazy to experience and I wouldn’t have believed it could work that way unless I had seen it with my own eyes. Over the past few years, I have seen so many people’s lives changed in positive ways due to getting regular chiropractic adjustments. It’s something that I recommend for EVERYONE (especially babies) because it WILL improve your quality of life, body functions and immune system.

Chiropractic is a science, art, and philosophy that concerns itself with the relationship between the nervous system and the function (health) of the body. Your brain send messages to the body and the body (think of your organs) sends back messages and if everything is in proper alignment the two can connect and work at 100% efficacy. If a bone in your spine is out of place the messages delivered by the nervous system cannot get through. Your nervous system controls every single thing in your body and often times when there is an issue it’s due to a nerve not being able to send messages to and from the brain. Another way to think of subluxations (blockages) are like having poor cell phone reception between your brain and body.

If you are experiencing any of the following then you most definitely need to see a chiropractor and get on an adjustment schedule. Disease, illness, pain, aches, injuries, bad posture, depression, anxiety, infertility issues, insomnia, etc. Studies show that a single chiropractic adjustment can boost the immune system by 200%. So my question to you is “why not?”

I am often asked about chiropractic adjustments for children and during pregnancy and I want to share my experience with both. I am adjusted during all of my pregnancies and it’s legit what helped me through. From the sciatic nerve pain, sleepless nights, immune weakness, maintaining a healthier pregnancy, controlling nausea, reducing the time of labor and delivery, helping flip a baby from sunny side up in the body, and most importantly relieving back, neck and joint pain. Ask my husband, without chiropractic adjustments during my pregnancies I wouldn’t have been a joy to be around! ha! SERIOUSLY! It changed me for the better every single time.

There are so many positive benefits from chiropractic that it’s hard not to ramble on but I will say that if you only take one piece of advice from me it’s to get your babies adjusted. Get them adjusted right after birth to help with any birth traumas that occurred during the birthing process. Finding a pediatric chiropractor should be just as important as finding a pediatrician. It can help with things like fevers, constipation, ADD, ADHD, kids walking on their tip toes, and teething. All of our children have been adjusted since they were born and it has helped with so many things. I can’t imagine life without having chiropractic care for them.

A few side effects you have from chiropractic may include: restful sleep, fewer headaches, improved posture, less stress, stronger immune function, and back and neck pain relief. It is SO amazing.

Here are a few FAQs my husband and I both are asked about chiropractic:

Q: What you get adjusted, what is the “popping” sound?
A: Through motion of movement, your joints build up gases. The sound you hear is actually the gases leaving the joint.

Q: Whats the difference between adjusting with an instrument and adjusting traditional/hands on?
A: Chiropractors use different techniques. The instrument adjustments are very beneficial and the only difference between the two is technique.

Q: How often should you go to the chiropractor for low back pain?
A: Normally, the longer you have felt the pain the longer you need to get adjusted to correct the problem. The body’s natural defense mechanism are for the muscles to secure that joint, when you adjust the joint the muscles are released. If you do not continue to get adjusted, the muscles are prone to go back into their tight and protective state.

Q: Is chiropractic safe for late in pregnancy? I feel like I need entire body adjustments?
A: It is very safe and highly recommended to get adjusted during pregnancy. Some chiropractors specialize in pregnancy adjustments and will have pillows, special tables and/or techniques. Adjustments during pregnancy can help with so many things.

Q: Why was I sore after receiving chiropractic adjustments twice a week?
A: Like previously discussed, a lot of the soreness comes from those muscles being manipulated. The muscles have found their home in that tense state and when you adjust the bone, the muscles move and that’s what creates the soreness. You are retraining the muscles on where they should be.

Q: Chiropractic and colic in babies, notice any relief?
A: Chiropractic care is great to help with colic, almost all babies that see a pediatric chiropractor see relief.

Q: Do adjustments help with sore hips while pregnant?
A: yes, they do! During pregnancy there is a lot of inflammation. Adjustments will decrease inflammation and improve mobility in the joints which will decrease pain.

Q: How does it prevent getting sick?
A: The immune system is in direct control by the nervous system (brain spinal cord.) Adjustments allow the body to function at 100% which helps the immune system fight things off.

Q: How often are you adjusted? How often are the kids adjusted?
A: I am adjusted twice a week unless I have a headache or if I feel like I need it. The kids are adjusted twice a week unless they are sick and have a fever and then they are adjusted more frequently.

Overall, it’s a wonderful way to heal the body naturally without medical interference and dependency on medications. The basics of healthy living are to drink more water, get chiropractic adjustments, stay mindful and lower stress, get more sleep, eat whole foods and exercise. You can read more about that by clicking here.

Let me ask you this, how is your alignment and posture as you read this? For me, I have noticed that my posture has slacked since I had Vivi and I have started to focus more on my posture throughout the day. I challenge you to work on your posture and go check out a chiropractor in your area.
