Sweater Weather Is Here!
Whoa, this past week has been a dozy… and it’s only Tuesday! I got sick on our vacation and couldn’t seem to shake it but thank God it’s finally gone! I am also thankful for my husband because he definitely stepped up and ran the house while I couldn’t. By the time Sunday came around I was feeling better and ready to get out of the house. I’ve been itching to wear these shoes for quite some time. But, ya know, #momlife, I am honestly rarely out of sweats! I’ve eyed these in my closet on the daily until last weekend when I finally had the chance to give them a go. Y’all, I’ve had so many compliments on them, it’s unreal. They are adorable and the perfect Winter neutral heel. I’m calling this dark merlot a neutral because it goes with EVERYTHING!
Ok, side note, yall…. I’ve been so emotional lately. This time of year really gets me on edge. I know it’s really gotten me into a funk and I haven’t felt like myself when I’ve tried to post on social media. I know that life ebbs and flows and for that I am thankful but a compliation of different situations feel likes like the devil is trying to break my spirit. Focusing on getting my head in a healthy place and not being around toxic people has really helped me.
If I could relate winter family functions into a movie, it would be Four Christmases! For this reason, we have decided to have our own Thanksgiving just Derrek, myself and the kids. It will be the first time I’m cooking everything (but the turkey, we definitely did not want to chance that!) and I’m really excited. I’m planning on making creamed corn, pull apart garlic bread, homemade gravy, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, garlic herb mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese casserole, baked green beans and sweet potato pie! Ah, it gets me excited just thinking about it. All the food blogs say prep everything 1-2 days in advance so that will take the pressure off of Thanksgiving day. Have any of you ever had a “alone” Thanksgiving? It seems so much less stressful! I’d love to hear your thoughts!
