Non Toxic Swaps: Don’t Forget Our Furry Friends!

Did you know that mainstream shampoo can have harmful chemicals in it that can have negative health effects for your pet? Just like mainstream shampoo for humans, toxic ingredients (like carcinogens and endocrine disruptors) in pet shampoo can have negative effects on your pets which is why it’s important to use non-toxic products on our furry friends too! Dogs actually have thinner skin than humans and their skin is more sensitive, so non-toxic shampoo is especially important if you have a dog. Just like humans, a dog’s skin is its largest organ and whatever is applied to the skin can be absorbed into their body. A dog’s skin can be affected by harsh chemicals and result in dry, itchy spots, irritation or allergies.

It’s super easy to use and works very similarly to any other pet shampoo you are used to.

Directions: Soak your pet in the bath or shower. Lather shampoo into pet’s coat. Instead of adding more shampoo, add more water to help lather if needed (this goes for human shampoos, too!) Rinse out thoroughly. Repeat if needed for a soft, clean fur baby.
