I can’t believe I am saying this out loud but the pictures just confirm everything, my first born has become a “BIG BOY!” He is no longer in toddler size clothing, has asked for a grown man haircut and wants to start sleeping in his own room. Many of you may or may not know that our family co sleeps. We do this for many reasons and you can read all about them here. Nolan has never consistently slept alone in his own bed but now that he has a “cool” room, he really wants too.
A lot of thought has gone into his room and it makes us so happy that he loves it so much. Sometimes, he needs his own space and I love that he willingly uses his room as a place to meet that need. He loves all super heros but Batman especially and that’s where the idea started for the theme of his room. Staying with a black, white and grey color scheme really makes his room stand out too! It has taken almost a year to decorate it to this point but I think we are almost finished.
Nolan is all boy and that means LEGOS! He used to have this huge Lego table that just did not fit the space so I made the decision to remove it and replace it with someone better suited for his room. This cute little bench/bookshelf from Kid Krafts stood out to me and fit perfectly! The exact one is actually out of stock but it is available in different colors. I love perusing the Kid Krafts website and all the furniture they have to offer. They even have sandboxes and playhouses for outdoors! Which leads me to ask, can y’all believe that Christmas is right around the corner? It has me constantly thinking about Christmas lists and I love how several things the kids want are from this company. Santa is going to have a great time this year because it’s not insanely hard to put together any of it but it’s GREAT quality! Win-Win.
Mamas, I would love your opinions on how to help your children get comfortable with staying in their own rooms. Please share with me any tips because the kids are very interested but always make their way back to our bed downstairs.
