Mom Truths While 39 Weeks Pregnant + My Minimal Makeup Routine

Hey ya’ll! I know that my blog posts have been really sporadic lately but I am TRYING to get back into a groove. This point of my pregnancies are always really difficult for me physically and mentally so I haven’t really felt up to doing much work wise. I am so thankful for the ability to work my own hours it’s not even funny. I don’t think that I could manage a regular 9 to 5 at this point.

It is sweltering hot here in South Carolina which has posed a problem since we do not have access to a pool and my husband nor my midwife want me traveling to the beach alone with three kids at 39 weeks pregnant. Today, NOT EVEN JOKING, I set up a little blow up pool under our carport for the kids and put a fan in front of it and my beach chair and just let them play for a few hours. They loved it and didn’t even care about us “redneckin'” haha. We tried to take them to a local splash pad last Sunday but the had more fun in our wee little pool and playing with the water hose. Kids are funny like that!

With that being said, when we do go out and about as a family or if I have to leave and do something for work, I have really leaned on a simple makeup routine. All of my makeup and skincare is now Beautycounter. My skincare at this point is all clearing my hormonal acne by washing with the Charcoal Bar daily and also using the Rejuvenating Collection for anti aging and getting rid of sun spots. I have also fallen in love the with the Overnight Resurfacing Peel. It has helped reduce my fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots and large pore size. Can I get an amen?! It’s seriously magic in a bottle and I can’t sing enough praises about it. Every morning, I wake up and my skin is SO soft from the peel that I just wash quickly with the charcoal bar and apply my minimal makeup.

What might I wear if everything melts off as soon as you step outside? Well, I have actually found a winning combo with a few products that I never thought I would love. I prime my face with the Balancing Facial Mist and I love how it works to reduce pore size and soak up any access oil that my face produces during the day. Then, I apply one pump of the Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20. I never used this product until last summer but I am in LOVE with it, especially during the hot months. I wear the Number 3 in the Dew Skin and I love how smooth it goes in and gives me the perfect amount of coverage when I am out and about. Then I use the Touchup Skin Concealer under my eyes to brighten because, #momlife, and pat in with my ring finger which uses the least amount of pressure on my skin. I always set my foundation and concealer with the Mattifying Powder because it helps keep everything in place and give my makeup a matte look. For blush, I am loving the Color Pinch Cream Blusher in Hibiscus. BE WARNED that it is a big pop of color and works best if you apply to the back of your hand and use your fingers to press into your cheeks. Then I sweep on a little of the lengthening mascara to make my eyes pop, brush out my eye brows and apply a bright lip color. I’ve always been a fan of bright lipstick but it works wonders when you aren’t wearing a lot of other makeup on your face. The Color Intense Lipsticks are my absolute favorite and I try to alternate colors throughout the week. They last ALL day long and have different depths of color depending on how much you apply. If you haven’t checked them out, you are missing out! I suggest “brunch” for an everyday neutral.

That’s it! Simple and easy and will stay put during the hot hot hot heat of summer. If anyone has any suggestions on fun ideas for the kids during the last week or so if my pregnancy, please feel free to share!
