Cranberry Relish with Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides

One of things that I do daily and enjoy immensely is cooking! Growing up, I never had family dinners. It was always something that I longed for and now that I have my own family, I look forward to them. Sometimes it’s crazy but giving my loved ones a hot meal that I prepared warms my heart. With Thanksgiving around the corner, I find myself planning our meal with one of my sisters. The holidays are always crazy because my mother and father are divorced, leading me to normally have two places to go during that holiday and now that I’m married we also do a thanksgiving with Derrek’s family as well.

I always make a few dishes to take to each place but there is always one that’s my favorite! My oldest sister taught me how to make this cranberries relish a few years ago and now every holiday season I find myself making it before and after the big day so I can have it on hand at all times. It’s super easy to make if you have a food processor or blender and I decided to make it even better for you by adding Vital Protein’s collagen peptides. If you read my previous post about the pumpkin protein balls with Vital Protein you know why collagen has become an essential to my daily routine. If not, check it out here.

Collagen is the most abundant protein and second largest substance (behind water) that is found in the human body. Until our twenties, our body naturally produces collagen. As this production slows and eventually ceases, we begin to see the signs of aging. Ahhhhh, why must this happen? I already feel like an old hen after having three kids. Now that I am getting older and my skin is showing age, the Vital Proteins collagen products have become every day essentials to my life! By replenishing collagen levels, it will benefit the building blocks that maintain hair, skin and nails. Let’s call it, the Fountain of Youth!

By adding the collagen peptides to the cranberry relish it adds no extra taste but tons of nutriential benefits. Check out the recipe below.

Ingredients:

-2 apples (I prefer gala or red delicious)
-2 oranges (leave the peeling on one of them, trust me on this one)
-a medium bag of walnuts or pecans (chopped)
-one bag of cranberries
-1 tablespoon of Wild Oats cinnamon (or one drop of cinnamon essential oil)
-1 tablespoon of raw sugar
-2 tablespoons of Wedderspoon honey
-1 scoop of Vital Protein’s collagen peptides

Recipe:

-add apples, oranges, and cranberries to blender or processor
-pulse until roughly chopped
-pour into bowl and add the pecans, cinnamon, sugar, honey, and collagen peptides
-mix until blended
-refrigerate to set for 30 minutes then enjoy!
