Beautycounter LEAD in Arizona

hey ya’ll! It’s officially been two weeks since I was in Arizona and WOW I had an amazing experience. I was so sad to spend that time away from my babies but I had to go and get training so I could further my business. Beautycounter has changed my life in more ways than one and soon, I’ll share more about that as well as the ladies who inspire me on the daily.

For those of you that do not know what LEAD is, it’s a special training for the top leaders of Beautycounter to attend. You had to be a Director or above to go on this three day training and get connected with the cream of the crop amongst our field. Even though it was very hard to schedule my family’s life without me during that time, and it was a financial commitment, I made it happen. I have a no excuses attitude when it comes to my business and by treating it as though it’s an important “must” in my life I feel like that helps me become successful.

During the three days of training, I gained so much knowledge and I left feeling pumped to implement it into my business. One thing that I have found about working for this company is that the training is above anything you could ever dream of and hearing the stories of the women who rock it every day make you want to go out and do the same thing. This year, I was lucky enough to have 6 Directors from my team with me. This is so impressive because last year I had two Directors on my team. I see the growth that has occurred from last year to this year and WOW. It’s amazing! *You’ll find out more about these special ladies when I do a mini series about how we all work our businesses soon*

The first day of training was really special because it was my first Managing Director Training. I hit Managing Director in February (during one of the hardest months of the year by the way). Managing Director is the very top rank that you can be in Beautycounter. I’ve wanted this for a very long time but the interesting thing is that you cannot earn this alone. This title is a combination of having 4 Director branches (each bringing in $10,000 business volume a month) and having a business volume (my sales + my entire team) of $100,000. That’s quite a feat to accomplish. The meeting that I attended had less than 50 consultants in it and we learned all the things about the business side of Beautycounter. I left that meeting knowing so many more things about the back end of Beautycounter and felt very inspired to work for the company that I work for.

After the meeting we all walked across the street to a private lunch for the Managing Directors then had a little time to spare before going to a private Make Up Master class with Christy Coleman. She is a celebrity makeup artist, the first makeup artist to go completely green with her business and the brains behind all the Beautycounter makeup. What I love about Beautycounter are the incentives and this was one of them. She is a genius and it was a must for me to win that private class. To attend the class you had to build your business and it was such a rewarding experience to go. She always teaches the most amazing tips for our makeup and I was even able to chat with her for a little bit after the class. When the class ended, I joined the people from my team that also won and we went to a Mexican restaurant with the rest of our team for dinner. It was so yummy and a fun way to spend more quality time together.

This year, my team decided that instead of spending the money on hotel rooms that we would rent an Airbnb and spend time together. It was a great decision to make because we really wanted to catch up with one another and spend the most time together when we were not in trainings. The girls on my team are some of my very best friends and we don’t all live in the same states so this meant the world to each of us. Our house was absolutely gorgeous and we really grew closer as friends during our stay there. We even got a spur of the moment photoshoot with Erin Dietrich (a leader on my team) she is such a talented photographer and she’ll be one of the ladies I feature on my new series soon.

The second day of training was really fun because we all spent a large chunk of time in general sessions together. The speakers focused on topics like being fearless in your business, leading with consistency, coaching your teams, and developing directors. Then we went into smaller break out sessions focused on motivation and being a better leader. After lunch, I headed behind the scenes for a special treat. One of my new Directors, Abbey Heilmann, won an award for hitting Director only TWO months after she joined the company. I was glammed out with hair and makeup and got to present her award on stage in front of 1700 women! It was a major moment in my business and I know that Abbey feels the same way. She inspires me to work harder in my business and I’ll share more about her with ya’ll!

During all of these trainings, I took so many notes that I almost filled out my entire notebook, haha! But that’s how amazing the trainings are. We also got to connect with other top leaders in the company and hear things that they do in their businesses that we can replicate and use in ours to grow. It’s so inspiring to listen to someone who has 20 MDs on their team or has over 2,000 ladies in their organizations. Hearing how different we all work our businesses are really special as well. After the trainings and lunch, we grabbed a quick bite for dinner and headed to a dance party.

One of my favorite parts of these trips is experiencing the fun parties. I look forward to hanging out with my friends and dancing to our favorite songs. It’s also great to have a open bar and unlimited amount of deserts as well. I honestly didn’t stay at the party for very long because I was so tired and once I got back to our house I showered and passed out. There were ladies who closed down the party and danced until they turned the lights on and I applaud them for letting loose. It was hard work to attend LEAD and these ladies earned the chance to let their hair down.

The last day of training at LEAD was bittersweet. We heard from numerous guest speakers during this time including the amazing Bridget Moynahan who spoke on how important it is that we step into our own shoes and don’t focus so much on the opinions of others. We even got a coffee table version of her new book Our Shoes Our Selves which I read cover to cover on the way home from our trip. Not gonna lie, I was a bundle of nerves for this entire last day. I had gotten a heads up from HQ about being recognized but they wouldn’t share with me exactly for what. I just had to sit in VIP seating during this session and wait. Talk about scary! hahaha.

After Bridget spoke, Gina Murphy of all people came over and sat at our table. I knew something big was about to happen. At the VIP table that I was seated at, there were six consultants including myself. Gina recognized us infront of everyone as the six consultants in the entire company that recruited someone every month during 2018. WOW! I honestly didn’t realize I had done that but looking back at my business, since I started recruiting, I always aim for two recruits a month to add new voices to my team. But it gets better. After that amazing recognition, I was surprised to hear my name called again and this time on stage where I was greeted by non other than Gregg Renfrew and Michael Mcgeever. They presented me and two other consultants gifts for being the only three people in the company to recruit more than one person a month and have over 3,000 in sales every month in the year 2018.

Never in my life did I think that a country girl like myself would be presented big time awards on stage during LEAD. I am blown away by the amount of growth that has happened in my business, for my team and my spiritual health since joining this mission. I am so thankful to work for a job that is not only focused on making the world a better place but making the consultants that work to do the same have a better life. If you would have told me 4 years ago that this job would lead to this I would have laughed. Now that I am here at this point, I want to scream it from the rooftops! Ya’ll! This is amazing and we’ve got to share it.

Say YES to changing the world and changing the beauty industry. I promise you will not regret it. Getting to come together during team trainings like LEAD is only the sprinkles on the cupcake. There is SO much amazing change that occurs when you just say YES!
